FZ-iWP Precision Balance:

The A&D FZ-iWP series extends the proven FZ-i platform into challenging environments where traditional precision balances cannot operate, featuring robust IP65 water and dust protection that makes these balances truly "accident proof." This ruggedized version maintains all the advanced performance characteristics of the standard FZ-i series, including the fast-stabilizing C-SHS sensor and one-touch internal calibration, while adding comprehensive environmental sealing against the ingress of foreign matter. The FZ-iWP precision balances bring laboratory-quality weighing capabilities to harsh industrial settings, wet laboratories, or outdoor applications where spills, dust, and contamination are constant concerns, ensuring reliable operation and accurate results regardless of environmental conditions while maintaining the same versatile functionality and compliance standards as their laboratory counterparts.

Trade Approved Balance Verification

When a balance is granted an NMI/NSC Certificate of Approval, it is classified under a designated accuracy class that sets the required performance standards for legal-for-trade use. One of the most important specifications is the verification interval — the smallest certified division allowed for trade weighing. Due to the large number of internal scale divisions in today's high-resolution balances, the verification interval for trade approval is usually coarser than the balance's displayed readability. For instance, the GX-4002A shows readings down to 0.01 g, yet its approved verification interval for trade use is 0.1 g.

In most cases, trade-approved balances still display the finer increments on the screen (commonly shown in brackets or with a different indicator), although certain models handle this differently: Class III EK-i balances suppress the final digit entirely, while the EW-150i removes an entire weighing range from trade approval. The verification interval defines the legally recognized accuracy and increment for commercial transactions and weighing applications subject to trade regulations. We clearly list the accuracy class and verification interval for each of our trade-approved models to help you choose the right balance that meets your specific compliance needs.

Core Difference Between FZ-i and FX-i Models: Calibration Method

FZ-i Series — Internal Automatic Calibration

• The key feature of the FZ-i series is that it includes built-in automatic internal calibration.
• You can trigger calibration at the press of a button.
• The balance uses an air-powered internal mass to calibrate itself.
• This internal method is self-contained and reliable — it can even return the calibration mass to position after a power interruption.
• Internal calibration makes the FZ-i very convenient and ensures accuracy without external weights. 

In short: FZ-i = automatic internal calibration included.

FX-i Series — External Calibration Only

• The FX-i series does not include internal calibration as standard.
• Instead, calibration is done externally using calibration weights (you provide them).
• Otherwise, FX-i models share many of the same weighing performance features: compact footprint, fast stabilization, multiple weighing functions, and GLP/GMP/ISO output. 

In short: FX-i = external calibration needed (no internal mass).
