Ohaus Starter Series Dissolved Oxygen, ORP, Temperature & Reference Probes

Enhance your laboratory accuracy with Ohaus Starter Series specialized sensors. Explore high-precision ORP, Dissolved Oxygen, STTEMP30 temperature probes, and STREF1 reference electrodes for professional water analysis.

The Ohaus Starter Series Dissolved Oxygen, ORP, Temperature, and Reference Probes deliver comprehensive water quality measurement capabilities for environmental monitoring, aquaculture, wastewater treatment, and process control applications. This specialized range features seven probe variants including two ORP electrodes for oxidation-reduction potential monitoring, three dissolved oxygen sensors utilizing both galvanic and optical technologies, one standalone temperature probe for universal applications, and one reference electrode for advanced electrochemical measurements. The ORP electrodes (STORP1 and STORP2) measure redox potential from -1000 to 1000 mV, providing critical data for sanitizer effectiveness monitoring in swimming pools, aquariums, and water treatment systems. Available in both maintenance-free gel-filled plastic shaft (STORP1) and refillable glass shaft (STORP2) configurations, these electrodes feature Ag/AgCl reference systems with ceramic or annular ceramic junctions and BNC connectors for seamless integration with Starter bench and portable meters.

The dissolved oxygen probes address diverse DO measurement requirements with both electrochemical and optical sensor technologies. The STDO11 galvanic sensor measures 0-200% dissolved oxygen with a simple, self-powered design requiring no warm-up time, making it ideal for routine laboratory and field applications. The advanced STDO21 optical dissolved oxygen sensors utilize luminescent dye technology to measure 0.00-20.0 mg/L (ppm) across temperatures from 0°C to 60°C, offering minimal maintenance requirements and no stirring needed for measurements—perfect for long-term monitoring applications in aquaculture, environmental studies, and wastewater treatment. Available with 1-meter or 5-meter cable lengths, the STDO21 features Mini-DIN connectors and durable plastic construction. The STTEMP30 standalone temperature probe provides universal temperature compensation from 0-100°C with a rugged stainless steel shaft and 1-meter cable with Cinch connector, compatible with all Starter bench (ST5000, AB41PH, AB33PH, AB23PH, ST2200, ST300) and portable meters (AB33M1, ST300D, ST400M, ST400, ST400D). The STREF1 Silver/Silver Chloride reference electrode offers a stable 0.198V vs. SHE potential with 2mm banana connector for advanced electrochemical applications requiring separate reference measurement.

Features of Ohaus DO, ORP, Temperature & Reference Probes:

  • 1 Year Warranty on all accessories: Genuine Ohaus probes backed by manufacturer warranty ensuring reliable performance and compatibility with all Starter Series bench and portable meters for water analysis applications.
  • Dual ORP Technologies: Choice of maintenance-free gel-filled STORP1 plastic electrode or refillable STORP2 glass electrode for -1000 to 1000 mV redox potential measurements across 0-100°C temperature range.
  • Advanced DO Sensor Options: STDO11 galvanic sensor (0-200%, no warm-up) and STDO21 optical sensor (0-20 mg/L, minimal maintenance) addressing routine and long-term dissolved oxygen monitoring requirements.
  • Optical DO Innovation: STDO21 luminescent dye technology eliminates warm-up time, requires no sample stirring, and provides infrequent membrane replacement compared to electrochemical sensors.
  • Extended Cable Lengths: Dissolved oxygen probes available with 1-meter (STDO21-1) or 5-meter (STDO21-5) cables for flexibility in field sampling, aquaculture tanks, and remote monitoring applications.
  • Universal Temperature Probe: STTEMP30 stainless steel probe measures 0-100°C with Cinch connector, compatible with all Starter meters for standalone temperature measurement and manual compensation.
  • Stable Reference Electrode: STREF1 Ag/AgCl reference provides defined 0.198V potential vs. SHE for advanced electrochemical research requiring separate reference measurement capabilities.
  • No Warm-Up Required: Both STDO11 galvanic and STDO21 optical DO sensors provide immediate measurements without polarization time, unlike polarographic sensors requiring 15 minutes to hours.
  • Rugged Construction: All probes feature durable plastic, glass, or stainless steel construction built to withstand daily laboratory and field use in water analysis applications.
  • Universal Meter Compatibility: All probes feature BNC, Mini-DIN, Cinch, or banana connectors fitting electrode holders on bench meters and clips on portable meters across the Starter Series line-up.

Applications for Ohaus DO, ORP, Temperature & Reference Probes:

  • Wastewater Treatment Monitoring: Measuring dissolved oxygen levels with STDO11 (galvanic) or STDO21 (optical) in aeration tanks and activated sludge processes to optimize biological treatment and effluent quality.
  • Aquaculture Oxygen Management: Monitoring dissolved oxygen continuously with the STDO21 optical probe in fish tanks and ponds, ensuring the stable conditions critical for aquatic life health without frequent membrane maintenance.
  • Swimming Pool and Spa Sanitization: Testing ORP with STORP1 or STORP2 electrodes to verify sanitizer effectiveness and maintain proper disinfection levels in commercial and institutional recreational water facilities.
  • Environmental Water Quality Studies: Measuring DO and ORP in streams, rivers, and lakes with field-ready probes for ecological research, environmental impact assessments, and regulatory compliance testing.
  • Food and Beverage Processing: Testing DO levels with the optical STDO21 sensor in brewing and beverage production to prevent oxidation, maintain flavour profiles, and extend product shelf life.
  • Laboratory Temperature Compensation: Using the standalone STTEMP30 probe to provide accurate temperature data for pH, conductivity, and dissolved oxygen analyses, ensuring precise automatic temperature compensation (ATC).
