Across International Vacuum Dry Pressing Die Sets (6mm to 50mm ID)

Advanced Vacuum Pressing for Enhanced Sample Quality

Across International vacuum die sets enable cylinder-shaped pellet formation under vacuum conditions, eliminating air entrapment and moisture that can compromise sample integrity in spectroscopic analysis and material testing applications. Available in four diameter configurations—6mm, 13mm, 25mm, and 50mm—with maximum pressure capabilities ranging from 4 tons to 100 tons, these hardened steel dry vacuum pressing die sets are specifically designed for applications where air-free pellets are critical for accurate analytical results. Each die set features integrated vacuum connections (1/4" hose barb on 6mm and 50mm models, vacuum connector on 13mm and 25mm models) allowing evacuation during the pressing process, which prevents oxidation of sensitive materials, eliminates voids that cause light scattering in spectroscopy, and produces denser, more uniform pellets compared to standard atmospheric pressing. The vacuum capability is particularly valuable when preparing samples of hygroscopic materials, reactive substances, or when maximum pellet density is required for optimal analytical performance in XRF, FTIR, and other spectroscopic techniques.

Precision Engineering with Critical Safety Guidelines

Manufactured from premium hardened steels achieving Rockwell Hardness Rc 62, these vacuum die sets maintain exceptional dimensional accuracy with pressing die tolerances of 0.01-0.02mm (10-20 microns). The 6mm model is constructed entirely from W18Cr4V hardened carbon tool steel, while the 13mm and 25mm models utilize W18Cr4V for core dies and push rods combined with Cr12 hardened carbon mold steel for sleeves, ejectors, and supports. The 50mm model employs Cr12 hardened carbon mold steel throughout for maximum durability under high-pressure vacuum conditions. Critical to successful vacuum pressing is the requirement that samples never exceed 1/3 of the sleeve height—this limitation ensures proper vacuum distribution, prevents seal failure, and maintains safety during pressing operations. Each complete die set includes multiple highly polished core dies (three for 6mm, two for 13mm and 25mm, one for 50mm), vacuum-compatible sleeves with sealing o-rings or gaskets, support bases, push rods, and pellet ejectors, with the 50mm model additionally including an aluminium carrying case and transparent protection shield on the 6mm model. Users must clean die sets thoroughly with absolute ethyl alcohol after each use and store in dry boxes with silica gel to prevent corrosion, while always wearing protective goggles during pressing operations and never exceeding specified maximum pressures for each model size.

Key Features:

  • Reliable Protection: Covered by a 1-Year Warranty for peace of mind.
  • Four Vacuum Die Sizes: 6mm, 13mm, 25mm, and 50mm diameters for diverse pellet size requirements.

Safety and Maintenance

Critical Safety Requirements:

  • Always wear protective goggles and safety gear during pressing operations
  • NEVER fill die more than 1/3 of sleeve height - critical for vacuum seal integrity and safety
  • Never exceed specified maximum pressure for your die size:
    • SDS6.V: Maximum 4 tons
    • SDS13.V: Maximum 15 tons
    • SDS25.V: Maximum 30 tons
    • SDS50.V: Maximum 100 tons
  • Ensure vacuum seals are properly seated before applying pressure

Maintenance Instructions:

  • Clean die sets thoroughly with absolute ethyl alcohol after each use
  • Store in dry box with silica gel to prevent surface corrosion
  • Inspect vacuum seals (o-rings/gaskets) regularly for wear or damage
  • Replace sealing components as needed to maintain vacuum integrity
  • Ensure all surfaces remain highly polished for optimal performance
  • Check vacuum connections for leaks before each use

Important Notice: Across International is not responsible for any damage caused by misuse, overfilling beyond 1/3 sleeve height, or exceeding maximum pressure specifications.
