A&D GX-224A & GX-224AE Analytical Balances (0.1mg Resolution)

The A&D GX-224A and GX-224AE represent the cutting edge of analytical weighing, delivering 0.1mg (0.0001g) resolution with a 220g capacity. Powered by the Smart Super Hybrid Sensor (Smart SHS), these balances achieve rapid stabilization and long-term reliability in demanding laboratory and industrial environments. The primary distinction between the two models lies in their specialized utility: the GX-224AE features a built-in, fanless ionizer with Quick Ion technology to eliminate static interference during the weighing of fine powders or light samples. Conversely, the GX-224A is the essential choice for commercial applications, offering NMI Trade Approval (Class 1) with a 1mg (0.001g) trade readability.

Designed for both performance and protection, these balances include patented Impact Shock Detection (ISD) to prevent sensor damage and Electronically Controlled Load (ECL) for precision management without external weights. The space-saving design features a large glass breeze break with retractable doors that disappear into the unit, making it ideal for crowded workbenches or fume hoods. With a comprehensive suite of functions—including Flow Rate Display (FRD), password-protected User Access Control (UAC), and full GLP/GMP compliance—these balances provide the security and versatility needed for rigorous documentation. Backed by an industry-leading 5-year warranty, the GX-224 series is a definitive investment in accuracy and durability.

  • NMI Verification Certificate — By Australian law, any NMI Trade Approved model must have an official NMI Verification Certificate before it can be used for trade purposes. This certificate is available from us for an additional fee
  • We can supply an official NMI Verification Certificate (legal-for-trade compliance) for the Trade Approved GX-224A (NMI) analytical balance at an additional cost of $165 (inc. GST). Simply call us on 1300 812 450 to add it to your order before shipping.

Trade Approved Balance Verification Certificate

When a balance receives an NMI/NSC Certificate of Approval, it is assigned an accuracy class that defines the required performance standards for legal-for-trade use. A key specification is the verification interval — the smallest certified division permitted for trade weighing. Because modern high-resolution balances have a large number of internal scale divisions, the verification interval for trade approval is typically coarser than the balance's displayed readability. In most cases, trade-approved balances continue to display finer increments on screen, though how this is handled varies between models. The verification interval defines the legally recognised accuracy and increment for commercial transactions and weighing applications subject to trade regulations. We clearly list the accuracy class and verification interval for each of our trade-approved models to help you select the right balance for your specific compliance requirements.
