A&D SV and SV-A Series Vibro Viscometer Descriptions

A&D SV-1A/10A Vibro Viscometer Description:

The A&D Weighing SV-A Vibro Viscometer represents the latest advancement in the revolutionary Sine Wave Vibro Viscometer family, building upon the groundbreaking success of the SV-10 and SV-100 models that transformed viscometry through exceptional ease of operation, high accuracy, and rapid testing capabilities. This innovative instrument requires only minimal sample volumes of 2ml (SV-1A) or 10ml or more (SV-10A), significantly reducing sample waste and operational costs while maintaining the precision and speed that characterizes the series. The SV-A features anti-corrosive titanium (JIS Class 2) sensor plates that provide superior chemical resistance for diverse sample types, complemented by a precision X-Y-Z stage that enables fine positional adjustment of the sample cup in three axial directions for optimal measurement alignment. Backed by A&D's industry-leading 5-year warranty and complete with the included AC Adaptor TB-S139, the SV-A delivers reliable, cost-effective viscosity measurement solutions for laboratories requiring accurate rheological analysis with minimal sample consumption.

SV-1A/10A Features

  • Industry leading 5 year warranty.
  • Very small sample size: The SV-1A requires a sample volume of only 2ml (SV-10A: 10ml or more) so users do not waste any samples and can save costs.
  • Titanium sensor plates: Anti-corrosive, titanium (JIS Class 2) sensor plates, which are resistant to chemical substances.
  • X-Y-Z stage: Fine position adjustment of the sample cup in three axial directions.
  • Power Supply: AC Adaptor TB-S139 Included

A&D SV-10/SV-100 Vibro Viscometer Description:

The A&D Weighing SV-10/SV-100 Vibro Viscometer series represents a revolutionary advancement in viscometry through its innovative tuning-fork vibration measurement method, delivering exceptional repeatability of 1% of reading while accommodating an extraordinary range from low viscosity 0.3 mPa•s to high viscosity applications up to 10,000 mPa•s (SV-10) or 100,000 mPa•s (SV-100) without sensor plate changes. This groundbreaking technology employs thin, low-mass sensor plates that minimize sample deformation and rapidly achieve thermal equilibrium within seconds, enabling accurate temperature-dependent viscosity tracking and measurement of challenging samples including non-Newtonian fluids, volatile substances, foaming materials, and even flowing liquids in turbulent conditions. The series excels in specialized applications such as cloud point detection of surface active agents, sol-gel state transitions, and surface/interface analysis, while the low 30Hz drive frequency prevents foam disruption and the compact sensor design requires only 35ml sample volumes to minimize waste. Featuring separate display and main units for flexible placement, easy-to-read large displays, simple stainless steel component cleaning, selectable 1-point or 2-point calibration with viscosity standards, and standard RS-232C connectivity, the SV-10/SV-100 series provides laboratories with fast, accurate, and user-friendly viscosity measurement capabilities backed by A&D's industry-leading 5-year warranty.

SV-10/SV-100 Features

  • Industry leading 5 years warranty
  • Tuning-fork Vibration Method provides for excellent repeatability of 1% of reading for viscosity measurement by our Sine-wave Vibro Viscometers SV-10 / SV-100.
  • Low viscosity of 0.3 mPa•s ( cP ) to high viscosity of 10,000 mPa•s ( cP ) sample fluid can be measured by the SV-10 and 1000mPa s (cP) to 100,000mPa s (cP) by the SV-100, without changing the sensor plates.
  • The sensor plate is thin and small, in area and in mass, making it is less influenced by the temperature change of the sample fluid and as a result the viscosity measurement tracks the change of viscosity of the sample fluid.
  • It is very important to measure the temperature of the fluid correctly because the viscosity is very much dependent upon this temperature. The SV series can detect an accurate temperature immediately because the fluid and the detection unit (sensor plates), with small surface area/thermal capacity, reach thermal equilibrium in only a few seconds.
  • The SV series, Tuning-fork Vibration Method does not cause damage to the sample fluid and allows measurement of cloud point of samples such as surface active agents and of surface/interface changes such as wet ability because of its excellent feature of a wide measurement range without the need to replace the sensor plates.
  • With Viscosity Standard, viscosity calibration can be easily done. 1 point calibration or 2 points calibration is selectable in the calibration mode.
  • Thin sensor plates allow little deformation of sample texture and thus enable measurement of stable viscosity values.
  • The low drive frequency of 30Hz allows measurement of foaming samples without breaking minute foams and with less scattering of larger foams.
  • Even the viscosity of flowing samples can be measured, including liquid in turbulent flow. This provides field management with identical data to that obtained in the laboratories.
  • The SV series comprise a separate Display Unit and Main Unit offering excellent placement flexibility.
  • Reading errors are avoided with the easy-to-read, large, clear display: 13mm height for viscosity measurement and 11mm height for temperature measurement.
  • The standard sample cup requires just over 35 ml thus reducing waste.
  • Due to the simple structure, the SV series sensor plates, temperature sensor and the protector made of stainless steel (SUS 304) can all be easily and quickly cleaned.
  • Sol and Gel samples can be measured during the change of material state
  • Standard RS-232C Interface.
RS-232C interface and a data connection cable (DB25-DB9) are supplied as standard for your PC or printer connectivity.
  • Power Supply: AC Adaptor TB-S139 Included
